Karim Benzema Needs To Improve - Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho insists that striker Karim Benzema needs to improve to fulfil his true potential.

The France international forward has struggled for much of the 2010-11 campaign but he was on target in Madrid's 1-1 draw with Olympique Lyonnais in the first-leg of their last 16 tie in the Champions League this week.

However, Mourinho thinks the 23-year-old Benzema still has room for improvement and told Spanish daily AS, "Everyone knows his potential which is impressive.

"But everyone knows, and he himself knows it, because he is an intelligent boy, that during matches he still needs to improve certain aspects.

"He is working to improve. He is going in the right direction."

Benzema, though, was pleased with his goal against Lyon and, according to Madrid's official website, said, "My goal was important and made me very happy. I was very happy in Lyon and I couldn't celebrate the strike.

"All my team-mates hugged me because the goal gave us the advantage in the tie. I am working to play more. The coach gave me 27 minutes of playing time and I responded on the pitch."

Angalia vizuri weweeee!!!!

Mobile phones: How to 'keep your brain away from the antenna'

A government-funded study published Tuesday says radiation from mobile phones can change the way brains process sugar.
Is that a big deal? The scientists aren't sure, according to CNN Health's report. But our story has scary tidbits.

Like this quote, from Dr. Nora Volkow, the Journal of the American Medical Association study's lead author and a neuroscientist at the National Institutes of Health:
"The human brain is sensitive to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by cell phones, but for the brain to be impacted the cell phone has to be close to the antenna. So keep your brain away from the antenna."
In layman's terms: It's better to be safe than sorry, she says.
Despite years of research, there's still no conclusive proof cell phone radiation causes cancer and other health problems in the brain. Studies, some of them funded by the wireless industry, have produced contradictory findings.

But the nearly ubiquitous devices haven't been proven 100% safe either.
So, for the sake of argument, let's say you are worried about this and you do want to "keep your brain away from the antenna."
How do you actually do that?
Here are a few options, taken from an earlier CNN tip sheet and influenced by another from the Environmental Working Group, an advocacy organization:

Quit talking on the phone
In the age of "can you hear me now," this won't be easy. One workaround , however, is to send text messages instead of calling. Not only will this keep the phone in your hand and away from your brain, it may help you connect with that pint-sized niece of yours who has given up "verbaling" completely.

Wear headphones when you talk
Wearing headphones -- or those Bluetooth headsets -- when you're talking on the phone can cut down on your exposure to mobile phone radiation. The only downsides to this are sociological: It looks weird if you're talking to yourself in public; and tech-savvy friends may judge you for wearing a Bluetooth earpiece.

Buy a phone that emits less
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission sets a radiation threshold that all cell phones sold here must fall below. Industry groups say this level is plenty strict, maybe even too strict. But others say consumers should be informed about how much radiation their phones emit and, if they want, they should be able to purchase a lower-radiation phone.
San Francisco last year started requiring cell phone manufacturers to advertise radiation levels in stores. If you don't happen to live in the Bay Area, however, don't fret. The Environmental Working Group and CNET News both have posted online lists of cell phones and their radiation levels.
General rule of thumb: The smarter the phone, the more radiation.

Use the speaker function
This one is easy to forget. Say you don't have headphones with a built-in microphone and you don't want to buy a geeky Bluetooth headset. The obvious solution: Just use your mobile phone's speakerphone feature.
Bonus tip: This probably works better when you're alone than when you're sharing your conversation with the entire room.

Don't talk as much
Take this as literally as possible. It's not just how long you're on the phone, but how much time you spend talking in a phone conversation that actually contributes to the amount of radiation your phone emits, according to the Environmental Working Group.
Maybe it's a good time to work on some listening skills.

Penalty hero Petr Cech rues latest Chelsea slip-up

Chelsea keeper Petr Cech conceded a point was not enough in their quest to win the title despite his last-minute penalty save earning a draw at Fulham. The Premier League defending champions now trail leaders Manchester United by 12 points with 12 games remaining.
After keeping out Clint Dempsey's spot-kick, Cech said: "For the title, this point is too little.
"Mathematically it's not over, but we are quite far off because our rivals won games and we lost two points."
Despite Cech's save in the 93rd minute to rescue a point, with leaders United and second-placed Arsenal both winning at the weekend, Carlo Ancelotti's team remained in fifth place and face a monumental task to retain their crown.

The Italian boss, whose side have already lost seven times this season, admitted the club's main mission was now geared towards qualifying for the Champions League by finishing in the top four.
Ancelotti said: "The most important thing is to finish in the top four. I think we will be able to do this if we play like we did tonight. I'm an optimist and there's good reason to have confidence.
"The football we showed tonight was good, and we have to continue it. I think that we deserved to win this game. We could lose it, but Petr Cech saved a penalty with a fantastic save."
Striker Fernando Torres was guilty of four missed chances as he again misfired in his second game for his new club since moving from Liverpool for £50m.

With Didier Drogba dropped to the bench, Ancelotti defended his decision to revert to a 4-3-3 formation with Nicholas Anelka and Florent Malouda supporting the Spaniard.
"I don't know if Didier was happy, but every player knows every game is important. We wanted to rotate to maintain his condition and to give everyone great motivation"
Carlo Ancelotti
"Fernando played well," added Ancelotti. "He had some opportunities in the first half and I took him out just to use Didier fresh and with power.
"Every striker wants to score. I don't think he's frustrated because he needs time to play with us and, after one week, he was really better after that first performance.
"I don't know if Didier was happy, but every player knows every game is important. It doesn't matter. We wanted to rotate to maintain his condition and to give everyone great motivation."

Diet Soda May Lead to Stroke Risk? Really?

When you grab a diet soda instead of the full-sugar version, you might think you're making the healthy choice — and you are, at least when it comes to your weight. But according to a new study, people who drink diet soda habitually could be putting themselves at risk for stroke.

Researchers reported their findings at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference 2011. The study, which analyzed data on 2,564 participants of the ethnically diverse, longitudinal Northern Manhattan Study (NOMAS), divided people into several groups based on their soda consumption: those who drank no soda; those who drank regular soda, either moderately (one to six servings per week) or every day; and those who drank diet soda, either moderately or every day. There were two other groups who went back and forth between regular and diet soda, drinking either moderately or every day. (More on Time.com: Big Breakfasts Are Out. 5 Better-For-You Morning Meals)

The researchers found that people who drank diet soda every day were 48% more likely to suffer a stroke or other vascular event over a nine-year span, compared with people who didn't drink any soda. That risk persisted after researchers accounted for factors like participants' age, sex, smoking status, exercise, alcohol consumption and peripheral vascular disease or heart disease history.
About 35% of the respondents didn't drink soda at all, and 24% said they drank diet soda; a total of 116 total participants drank diet soda every day. By the end of the nine-year follow-up, 559 participants had suffered some type of vascular event, including 221 strokes, 149 heart attacks and 338 total deaths. (More on Time.com: The Updated Egg: Less Cholesterol, But Is It Healthy?)

But the researchers said that more investigation would be needed before they'd feel comfortable recommending patients stay away from the fizzy stuff. The study's findings were intriguing, but they don't prove cause and effect; for one thing, people who drink soda every day, diet or otherwise, may also engage in other less-than-healthy behaviors, like eating a lot of high-fat, high-cholesterol foods. Researchers also acknowledge that relying on participants' self-reported dietary behavior was a significant limitation of the study.

Further, participants were asked about their soda-drinking habits only once, at the start of the study; their behaviors may have changed significantly over the follow-up period. Researchers also did not collect data on family history of stroke nor did they measure long-term changes in participants' weight. (More on Time.com: Bud in a Bottle: New Marijuana Soda to Launch in Feb.)
"If our results are confirmed with future studies, then it would suggest that diet soda may not be the optimal substitute for sugar-sweetened beverages for protection against vascular outcomes," said Hannah Gardener, lead author and epidemiologist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Fla., in a statement.
But, then, we already knew that. The optimal substitute is water.

Rooney: My greatest goal

After his moment of genius in the Manchester derby, Wayne Rooney was remarkably matter-of-fact when talking to the TV cameras about his winning goal.
He did concede, however, that the spectacular strike was the best goal he's ever scored.
“Yeah, I think so," he told Sky Sports. "I just tried to get into a good position for when Nani crossed the ball. I saw it come into the box and I thought, ‘Why not?’. So I tried it [an overhead kick] and thankfully it went into the top corner.
“Nine times out of 10 they go over the crossbar or wide, but thankfully today it went into the top corner.
“It’s instinctive. You don’t have time to think about what you’re going to do.
“I scored one [an overhead kick] in school but to be fair, it’s my first one since I started playing professionally. I’m delighted.”
His joy was as much down to the game’s result, though, as it was his own performance.
“After dropping three points, it was important we kept that gap between ourselves and City. It was a close game but I think we created the best chances and deserved to win.
“After last weekend, I think we felt we owed the fans a good performance and three points. That keeps us on top of the league, so we’re thankful for that.”

The best suits for Men and Women

5 tips for “Tell Me about Yourself” interview answers

Try to be as clear, precise and frank as possible. When interviewing and answering “tell me about yourself” questions, you should avoid common mistakes and stick to the facts as follows:
1. Keep the information crisp and relevant: One of the first things to remember is to keep the information crisp and relevant. Try to speak in short sentences and moreover, try to give them as much information as possible in the least amount of time. Here is a brief idea of what you would be saying, refer to: How to Describe Yourself in an Interview.
2. Do not repeat information from the CV: You should ascertain that none of the information that you provide about yourself is repeated or duplicated from your curriculum vitae. Therefore, even your curriculum vitae should only contain the necessary and relevant information, while all other miscellaneous information should be disclosed during the ‘tell me about yourself’ answers.
3. Fabricated or false information: Another important thing that you should remember is that you should not give any fabricated or false information while answering the Tell Me about Yourself Interview question. Background checks today have become very important and strict. Companies are known to sack people even after years of working, simply on the basis of some false information provided to them during the initial interview.
4. Irrelevant and unnecessary information: It is very important that no irrelevant and unnecessary information is given out during the question. The question seems to be quite simple, but it is actually one of those make or break questions, from which an interviewee can never recover and hence loses the job opportunity.
5. Facts and figures: While telling about yourself, be prepared to be asked further questions about any facts and figures that you have provided. For example, if you have said that you have a Bachelor’s degree, make sure that you carry a copy of the same. Any information given without the relevant proof may be deemed suspicious and ambiguous.
6. Do Not Tell them about: You should not disclose too much information . You might tell the interviewer that your hobby is fishing, but telling about your last fishing trip in which you missed a big fish would be too much information, unless the interviewer is a big fishing fan and actually goads you into telling the details. Also, you should not give them too much information about your family members. Of course, you would have to inform them about the number of family members that you have,  and whether they work or not, and if yes, where, those kinds of details, but telling them anything apart from that is not suggested.
These are just some of the aspects of the crucial “tell me about yourself” interview questions.

Nadal, Vonn win top Laureus awards

Rafael Nadal was glowing with pride after winning the prestigious Laureus Sportsman of the Year award, following in the footsteps of his greatest tennis rival Roger Federer.
The Spaniard was honored along with American skier Lindsey Vonn, who won the top women's prize at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

"It is very important (in terms of) personal satisfaction," the nine-time grand slam winner told CNN's Pedro Pinto.
"This nomination is voted for by the world of sport ... the best sportsmen and sportswomen in the world voted for me, it's a real honor. It was an emotional season for me, probably the most emotional of my career, so thank you very much for everyone who made this possible for me."

Federer won the men's award four successive times until champion sprinter Usain Bolt reigned in 2009 and 2010, but Nadal took this year's gong after reclaiming his world No. 1 ranking and winning three of the four tennis grand slam events.
The 24-year-old, who won the best newcomer category in 2006, headed off footballers Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel, basketball star Kobe Bryant and boxer Manny Pacquaio.
He said he was looking forward to returning to action after a leg injury effectively ended his hopes of completing a grand slam at the Australian Open last month.
"For me, the most important thing is not being No. 1 but to be healthy and keep being competitive in every tournament I play," Nadal said.

How video games can make you smarter

Following are four ways that video games can actually help make you smarter. The next time some cretin demands you drop the controller, consider citing all as you strike a wounded pose and educate the poor Neanderthal.
Hands-on experience
More interactive and absorbing than passive forms of entertainment like movies and TV, video games promote higher levels of engagement because observers are actively and enthusiastically involved with on-screen activity.
It's a point author James Paul Gee emphasizes in "What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning and Literacy," which argues that digital diversions promote more substantive learning. As he once told UK newspaper The Guardian, "good video games ... are complex designed systems that players have to learn to engage with reflectively and strategically." Many children can pass biology and physics tests, he points out, but few can apply that knowledge to solve real-world problems.
Job training
Businesses and universities are increasingly turning to interactive simulations and virtual worlds as training tools to educate employees.
From Cisco to NASA, the U.S. Army to IBM, numerous corporations, government organizations and colleges have all employed interactive learning solutions.
Consider Loyalist College in Ontario, which offered students a simulation of U.S./Canada border crossings where they played the role of guards, and actually saw the rate of successful test scores jump from 56% to 95%. Or the Hilton Garden Inn, which built a custom 3-D hospitality training game for the PlayStation Portable, reasoning that it's more informative and reasonable for staffers to experiment by interacting with virtual customers.
Contextual learning
Video games may soon save lives as well.
According to Dr. Jeffrey Taekman, the director of Duke University's Human Simulation and Patient Safety Center, "serious games and virtual environments are the future of education."
Besides offering medical students the ability to practice on patients (which is much safer in the digital world), simulations offer health care providers several upsides. Chief among them, he says, are the abilities to make choices, see results and apply information immediately.
Beyond allowing for greater scalability and group collaboration than traditional classrooms, every decision made in a virtual world, he continues, can be tracked and benchmarked against best practices, then standardized or archived for others' review. "The traditional textbook will soon become passé," he suggests. "Gaming platforms will offer an interactive way for students to learn and apply information in context."
Teamwork and collaboration
Massively multiplayer games such as "World of Warcraft," "EVE Online" and "City of Heroes" may seem like idle fantasy and sci-fi escapes.
But many require active teamwork and high-level project management to do well. Collaborative elements often take the form of loose alliances disguised as in-game guilds, factions or virtual corporations where players join forces to complete objectives such as seizing territory or battling otherwise unstoppable opponents.

As Georgia Tech professor and Persuasive Games founder Ian Bogost explains, these titles frequently require advanced mastery of resource allocation and practical leadership techniques.
Requiring direct management and informed decision-making at multiple levels, group heads quickly learn to delegate responsibility, direct personnel and steer allies toward a common goal. Actively promoting teamwork between seemingly disparate individuals located states or entire countries apart, he says, all ironically offer preparation for a job in today's increasingly virtual workforce.

So, beware. Your superhero-obsessed buddy or Harry Potter-loving child may be tomorrow's next genius inventor or corporate mogul in disguise.
